Minotaur+ - Discover the Treasure!
The three time National winner Minotaur+ is a Legion of
Honor. He has also won over 20 most classic awards.
Minotaur+ combines beauty, size, and motion as well as a
dynamic and extraordinary presence that sets him apart. A son of Menes,
one of the leading sire of European Champions, out of Amurath Selari, a daughter
of *Sanacht, who was up to recently, the all-time leading United States
Dam of champions. Minotaur+'s lineage is as flawless as his confirmation.
Under saddle, Minotaur+ exhibits exceptional athleticism.
His balance, endurance and power are awesome. Minotaur+'s get show similar
abilities to learn and be trained, while retaining show attitudes. His
pedigree, confirmation and solid bone structure make him a natural performance
sire.
Minotaur+ crosses well with mares of many different bloodlines.
He tends to lengthen the croup and shorten the back. He emphasizes pretty,
shortening and widening the head and passing on the large soft eyes. His
motion, showring attitude and tail carriage are shared by his foals. He
is a pleasure to deal with, even in the breeding season.
In 1995, David Boggs showed Minotaur+ in preparation to
the U.S. Nationals. He earned many championships, as well as a large following.
These same people cheered his recovery from a trailer accident on the
way to the U.S. Nationals in October 1995.
In 1996, Minotaur+ started out with a Reserve Championship
for Stallions 1990-and-over at Scottsdale, shown by David Boggs. Because
of Minotaur+ arriving late in the breeding season and the commitment to
the already booked mares, Keith Krichke did the halter training in Michigan
so he could honor those breedings. Minotaur+ and Keith were a team, and
the decision was made to go to Nationals with him. Thanks to Keith, he
was presented magnificently. He even had a standing ovation when he left
the ring in Louisville.
Says Linda Mehney of Grand Arabian Farm (1995)
"it was a cold, bleak morning in April. Patches of snow
stood in sheltered areas and the wind shuffled across the prairies that
stretched treeless to the horizon. I had come to Central Canada to see
a horse, but the countryside seemed more like the barren steppes of Russia,
which has been home to this stallion's sire. When I had seen the video,
I wondered where Minotaur+ had been hidden. When he was led from the stall
that morning, I could only imagine where he would be going! As natural
and strong as the countryside, he shown in the morning light with a radiance
that came from within. The video and the photos had only been tantalizers.
He was very much for real and so were his babies! Having searched the
world over for a sire for my own Mahogany mares and those of my clients,
I knew I had found the horse. It's not often that someone makes a discovery but I feel
I've made one in Minotaur+. The people in Canada who know him must feel
like our North American Indians felt within Columbus 'discovered' them.
This horse is a secret that must be shared. I am proud to have introduced
him to the World. He will have an impact on the breed. I am breeding my
Padrons Mahogany mares to Minotaur+, and will be standing and managing
him from Grand Arabian."
Says Keith Krichke of Krichke Training Center (1996)
"Minotaur+ is the easiest stallion I have ever shown. He
has tremendous heart and is always there for you. He is way cool-he is
a great horse!"
Says Linda Mehney (1998)
"Now that I have some Minotaur+ foals of my own and have
seen many of my clients, they are as predicted by the lines I saw in Europe
and the multiple foals in Canada, exceptional! He is crossing very well
with many different blood lines across the board, siring correct, athletic
show horses that are smart and easy to deal with. I'm looking forward
to the impact, on the industry, that this stallion will achieve.
